todays notes

today in class, we learned about this thing called a population pyramid which is a kind of chart that compares the population of men to women in a state, country, or region. we use population pyramids to analyze growth of fertility, mortality, and migration in cities. there are also three basic shapes of a population pyramid being is a triangle which is the christmas tree, a box, and a cup. plus in class today, we had a shadow with us that was being homeschooled and played football.

today's fact book review

today in class we went over the fact book assignment that we did last night for our blog and said what facts we all put down. one person said that china uses trillions of killawates and is number one compared to the world and the U.S. being 2 compared the world. another kid mentioned the amount of air ports that china has which is pretty low for its size. towards the end of class, we started to get off topic and listened to the national anthem which is when mr. schik told us a story of when he sung the national anthem at a football game and that was kind of funny in my opinion.

world fact book

the CIA has this thing on the website called a world fact book which list information about all the countries and islands on the planet. for example, the school life expectancy in morocco is 12 years for women and 13 years for men. this is interesting because in the usa and a bunch of other countries kids are in school till at least 18 to 20 years old and here, we don't consider children smart and old enough to be done with school. the unemployment rate in iraq is only 15% which surprises me because with the low economy and terrorism, id think that there would be alot more people unemployed plus with the women not having hardly any rights, meaning that they didn't work. iraq's energy consumption being at 66 billion kWh is even more surprising because number one the country is pretty much in the desert and like i said they do not have the amount of money to afford that much energy. another fact that stands out to me is that the island of fiji actually has a military land force and air forces which you would think that since fiji is just an island, that it,s military and security would be under another countries responsibility. the last thing which confuses me the most is that the amount of unpathed runways is higher than the amount pathed which is 43 unpathed to 39 pathed.

today's notes

today in class, we took notes on birth rates and death rates of a population, migration which their is a thing called net migration which is the difference between the number of people entering and leaving a country during a year. we also learned why people would migrate out of a country or to a different country which the reason would be either because of unemployment or religious and ethnic persecution or because one counties health care system is better than their own countries. the last thing we talked about was something called a total fertility rate which is the average number of children born per woman.

test review

today in class we went over each of the questions on the test and went over any of the ones that people got wrong. i got five of the questions wrong on the test and three of them were pretty dumb which kind of frustrates me. the teacher also yelled at us for talking way to much in every class and causing other people to get off focused, not doing so well on tests. plus when we talk to much, we don't learn as much and miss easy questions on tests which was also why he was annoyed.

today's class

today in class we started learning about a new topic called population and settlements and we took notes. we learned about how much the world population is increasing by and how big the world population is which is over 7.5 billion. we also learned how large the population of different countries are and how much their population is increasing including the U.S. it also said that the world population increases by 7.3 million per year and that the birth rate is higher than the death rate. i think that is amazing because of how big the population is and how much it is increasing by.

test day

in class today, we took a test on everything that we have studied and reviewed over the past week in a half. i hope i did well because i know i didn't study as much as i should have but at least i went over my notes before i took the test, plus i think that i actually knew the answer to all the questions when i took the test. while i took the test some of them i needed a map to find the answers for but that wasn't that bad because i found the answers pretty well.

todays review game

today in class we let demetre know what we did yesterday and told him what we said was going to be on the test. then we played a review game on all that is on the test which waxs kind of interesting to me because my team got four points and the other team got ten points. the first three questions that we answered. we got right but then we started getting them wrong because some were difficult to answer. the questions had were kind of hard but didn't answer fast enough which most of our team also did but eventually someone on our team got another point for us but that was it. in my opinion, i didn't like the game as much because some of the questions made know sence and i couldn't keep up with some of the questions he asked.

today's blog

today in class, we talked about the questions on the test and what we thought should go be on the test since there was like for pages to the test. this is helpful in my opinion because i get to hear what is going to be on the test and ill have a more specific thing to study. we went over things like time zones, types of map distortion, and latitude and longitude. we also talked about how the earth was round and that in the 15 or 1600s, christopher columbus traveled across the atlantic to get to china since he knew that the world was round.

class note taking

yesterday in class, we took more notes off the powerpoint and the teacher had a couple kids come up to try and teach the class with some of the info on one or two slides. i thought that the second kid did better than the first because he was more serious and he new more about what he was talking about so he could explain more. the weird part about the class was that it was cut a little shorter because of the powerpuff game. the only thing about the two of them was that it was harder to understand what they were trying to explain.

quiz review

today in class we went over the quiz and talked about socrates. most of the questions i didn't do well on but i also didn't do well on the essay part because i did not put enough details. socrates was an athenian who was charged for the corruption of youth and for disrespecting the gods. when he was the courts found him more guilty-279 to 210, he was thrown in jail and was going to be forced to drink hemlock. his defence for his crimes were that instead of being punished, he should be treated with free dinners and that he didn't care if it was a crime, he was proud of what he did and would do it again. plus his friends even offered to take him out of the country and escape but he refused and said that he loves athens and his loyalty was to athens so he drank the hemlock and died.

GPS navigation

Today in class, we took notes on the GPS which gives you directions on how to get somewhere. but we also learned that when we put the location of your home and its address, hackers could find that and go to your home. When you put an address and place into a GPS it gives you precise coordinates of the place. Then we talked about alexa and how dangerous it could be. It could be very bad because when you say its name, it responds to you because it is listening to for its name meaning that it hears everything you say. If someone wanted to listen to you, they could hack in to alexa and hear conversations and possibly figure out when you are and aren't home so they could brake in.

week 18

today in class we did a review on what was going to be on the rennaissance test tomorow. some of the stuff that we talked about was how mart...
