week 18

today in class we did a review on what was going to be on the rennaissance test tomorow. some of the stuff that we talked about was how martin luther opposed the practice of indulgences becausse the pope was extreemly rich and had a palace hut he was just taking money from every one to build a cathedral. then we talked about how martin luther wrote the 95 theses and posted it on the front of the church right before halloween so that everyone would see it the next day when they went to church. after this he started teaching his own stuff at a university which a lot of people accially followed his ways. he as latter thrown in to court in front of the roman emperor, lost and escaped. he changed his name and looks and when he came back he relized how many bpeople had been practicing his stuff, and that they even started their own religion on these teachings.

week 18

today in class we started taking notes on a new power point about the church during the rennaissance era. some of the notes we took were on how the church is vulnerable and weakened socially, politically, and economically. we talked about how the problem with the church was that the priests and other religious authorities were corrupted because of their poor education, drinking too much, and that they were getting maried and having children. the last thing we talked about was indulgences and how martin luther was a monk who objected this practice.

week15 day 7

the united states could be declining for afew reasons which could relate to rome or in modeern day. some of these resons are that the economy is doing very porelyand people aren't able to pay taxes, the trading business with other countries could be doing bad leading to a lack of suplies like entertainment or some foods, or a war with anouther country could be taking place leading to a decline in the population of americans which could then create the same problem with the economy. because we'd be sending lots of men and women off to war, there wouldn't be enough people to pay taxes which would cause businesses to stack up on bills and then go out of business since they aren't making enough money.

week 17

today in class we did a review on the power point on the european renassaince and took more notes. some of the things we reviewed were about isabella and how she was a super patron, we went over humanism, the meaning of renaissance, and how milan and florance had wealthy merchants and bankers whinch these were all test questions so that was important. the main thing we took notes on and talked about a lot was the printing press and how you would plase all of these tiny medal letters on to this surface put ink on them, and then press it to the paper which you could make lots of copies of what you were tring to write.

week 17

the renaissance was a period of creativity in art, writing, and lasted from 1300 to 1600. humanism is an intellectual movement that focused on human potential and achievements. secular means to be worldly rather than spiritually concerned with here and now. patrons are people who suport artists financially and were renaissance merchants and wealthy families. a prespective is techneque used by painters that shows three dimensions on a flat surface. vernacular was a native language used by  dante which was italian. some of the characteristics of men were that they were expected to create art, and were refered to as universal men if they excelled in many feilds. renaisance women were supposed to inspire art, know the classics, and be charming. the city states of italy helped with the renaissance because the survivors of the middle ages wanted to revive the past and while they did that they devoloped new things like the importance of an individual. the church leaders beutified rome and spent large amounts of money for art.

week 16

today in class we reviewed the test that we took yesterday which i had a few questions wrong, and then we started the next chapter which is on the renasance. some of the questions that i got wrong were how many senators serve in the U.S., how many members of the house of representatives represent maryland, and U.S. how many senators represnt maryland. i did get a few others wrong but my overall score was an 86 so i did pretty good. i also think that what were about to start learning is a little boring because the renasance is manly about arts which i think is boring so this should be fun.
